3.39-Carat Round Umba Garnet

One of the more recent discoveries in the gemstone world is rhodolite, which is surprising as it is found in a great many mines across the globe. Named from the Greek work, rhodon, meaning "rose-like" it takes after its namesake, not only in color but also beauty. Rhodolites, being a pyrope type garnet, come in shades including pinks, reds, purples and every mixture therein it can also go under a treatment known as heat treating to be turned brown, this process is irreversible. Even though it is one of the more commonly found gemstones do not assume it is among the cheaper stones, due to their high demand, common clarity, color brilliance and durability sellers are able to catch a high price.
